Michael Higdon

Michael is the founder and chief principal of A1.9 Strategies, a boutique DC-based consulting firm with particular expertise assisting small- and medium-sized innovators in accessing and winning federal homeland security, defense, and transportation opportunities. Leading security technology companies have come to rely on A1.9 Strategies to devise and execute complex federal engagement and budget prioritization strategies in close concert with sales and marketing efforts. For more than 14 years, Michael worked for senior Republican members of the House Appropriations Committee, including the long-standing, former Chairman/Ranking Member of the Homeland Security Appropriations Subcommittee Hal Rogers (R-KY). In Michael’s role as Chief of Staff, he managed day-to-day operations, counseled on a broad range of policy issues, vetted funding priorities, and routinely interfaced with other key policymakers, congressional staff, and DHS personnel. Michael graduated from Lafayette College with a degree in government & law.
